Having a baby changes your entire life, and, as you know, the changes begin before you've even held your child for the first time. At Northland Women's Center, we know you want the best for your baby and yourself from the moment you've received the news that you're pregnant. That's why our maternity services are among the best in the city. This includes a unique partnership with Children's Mercy Hospital which allows more seriously ill babies and parents to remain close to home. And North Kansas City Hospital is the only hospital in the Northland that offers extensive coverage with Children's Mercy, including a 24/7 neonatal nurse practitioner coverage for our Level III neonatal intensive care nursery. It may be your job to deliver your baby, but we certainly don't want you to feel alone, and our staff is there to smoothly guide you through every step of your pregnancy.

If you're researching hospitals, Tours of the 7th and 8th Floors are available; registration is required. The registration page has various dates and times listed, scroll towards bottom of the page for details. Call, 816-691-5179 for more information. It is free to anyone, whether they are
taking child birth classes or just thinking about whether to choose our facility.

Visitor Access to Our Maternity Unit Has Changed
In our effort to keep our happy babies safe, we are requiring all visitors show a photo ID and register with Maternal Child Health staff before being allowed access to the maternity areas. Please advise any family or friends who may be visiting during your stay at the Hospital.

This enhanced, restricted access to the Maternal Child Health Unit offers another significant level of security for the protection of newborns and their families during their stay at our Hospital. We are certain the extra step will be well worth this level of security!
